Almost regardless of industry or tasks, skills are needed to use digital tool and services. Technology development in areas such as robotics, automation and additive manufacturing requires new cutting-edge skills in both production and, for example, analysis of big data to create value from the explosively growing data volume generated from products and systems. New demands on sustainability requires new skills in designing products, production systems and business modules.

For engineers and other professionals

Ingenjör4.0 is aimed at professionals with an engineering background – but also to other professionals such as operators, technicians, management etc. with an interest in smart and connected production.

This is ingenjör4.0

Ingenjör4.0 is a web based upskilling program for the future’s smart production. 13 Swedish Universities have developed short modules with topical content that responds to the rapid digitalisation of the industry, often called Industry 4.0.

The modules can be combined as the participant wish, making it easy to customise the upskilling based on the unique needs of the company and individual.

All Ingenjör4.0 modules are conducted in English. You find all available modules below.

Estimated workload and educational setup

Each module is estimated to take about 4 hours per week over 5 weeks to complete – spent in most parts at the learner’s convenience, and in some parts in coordination with co-learners. For each completed module, a Certificate is awarded. The modules are led by prominent teachers from Swedish Universities and follow clear learning paths with time estimations of each chapter. To facilitate learning, a variety of learning activities are offered:

  • Recorded lectures and additional materials – to introduce topics.
  • Summaries – to emphasise content highlights.
  • Quizzes – to self-monitor learning progression.
  • Reflections – to connect with previous experience.
  • Exercises – to transform gained knowledge into practice.
  • Webinars – to engage in deeper discussions on selected topics, together with teachers and co-learners. The webinars are essential to our pedagogical concept!
  • Supplementary reading – to facilitate further studies
