Do it! There is nothing to lose everything to gain

That is Malin Elvin’s advice to PhD students thinking about joining Produktion2030 Graduate School.

Malin Elvin, PhD student at Mälardalen University, is doing her research on the area Circularity for production and production development.

The research is conducted within the Vinnova-founded project Green Design. The aim is to implement circularity in other parts of the industry and not only the produced products. This is a pressing matter to address if the industry wants to reach the climate goals, says Malin.

Malin has studied the course International Summer School on Industrial Agents. She thinks the best thing about the course was connecting with PhD students from other countries than Sweden.

— It allowed getting perspective on the research and learn what is going on outside the regular network. The social activities planned for the course helped with this as well and we got a chance to talk to almost all of the lecturers outside of class as well, she says and continues:

— Apart from that, the content of the course was interesting and spot on to what was advertised.

The best thing about Produktion2030 Graduate School in Malin’s opinion is the broad selection of relevant courses, providing the skills and knowledge needed to develop the future of production. She also like the easy overview of available courses making it possible to plan at least one year ahead.

To my knowledge, this is the only platform in Sweden that shows courses given at several universities in the same place, Malin says.

She also highlights that Produktion2030 Graduate School offer most courses for free if you are a part of Produktion2030.

— It gives a more equal opportunity for all PhD students to attend no matter how much funding they have from their research project or university.

Malin would definitely recommend Produktion2030 Graduate School to other PhD students. She thinks it is a splendid networking platform and a gives insight to the latest new in the world of production. Her advice to PhD students thinking about joining is clear:

Do it! There is nothing to lose everything to gain.

Having a platform like Produktion2030 Graduate School is important for both researchers and PhD students in Malin’s opinion.

Everyone within production research, both researchers and PhD student, would lose a one of a kind platform without Produktion2030 Graduate School, she finishes.
