Produktion2030’s Graduate School in Canada: 98% green electricity

PhD students from the course International Production within the Produktion2030’s Graduate School, are visiting Canada. Greta Braun, PhD student at Chalmers, shares some of her insights and thoughts from the study trip:
DAY 2 of our Produktion2030 course to Canada! Today we visited a water power plant in Shawinigan by the company Hydro-Québec! The drive there was already pretty pittoresque, with the red and orange leaves in the forest, mirrored in the river. To get to the plant, we also had to take a boat over the lake.
The water power plant has been running since 1911 and provides the region with renewable and clean energy, so 98% of the electricity in Québec can be green! 🌱
