Follow Produktion2030’s Graduate School in Canada
The following weeks, PhD students from the course International Production within the Produktion2030’s Graduate School, are visiting Canada. They will meet researchers and professors from different universities as well as researchers and developers from the industry. Greta Braun, PhD student at Chalmers, will share some of her insights and thoughts from the study trip. Here is her first reflection:
DAY 1 of our Produktion2030 course to Canada! The day started with a city tour in Québec, led by Silvan (Chalmers) who used to live here. We went uphill to take a picture in front of the most photographed hotel in the world. Next, we headed to the parliament where we got a super interesting tour by our guide Antoine. On the way in, we had to go through a tunnel that symbolizes the acceptance and respect towards other opinions. Canada is a constitutional monarchy, and King Charles is one of the two heads of the country, next to the prime minister Justin Trudeau. We met some members of the parliament and listened to an ongoing discussion about diversity aspects in healthcare. Very interesting to see the members of the parliament discuss! Currently, there are four different parties in the parliament.
After lunch – the traditional ”Poutine” dish – we visited the Citadelle. Again, we encountered the headline of Quebec – ”Je me souviens”, which means ”I remember” in French. What exactly should be remembered is not certain, said our tour guide, but this remains to the imagination of the individual.
