DESCRIPTION

Global Production, Digital Supply Chains and Horizontal Integration is created for Change Leaders seeking to increase their understanding and confidence to further develop supply chains and internal logistics functions, in a global production context, using digitalization. The module offers unique perspectives from experts and participants through continuous cross-company collaboration in learning teams that will broaden your learning network and support your work.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Define and describe supply chain management and relationships, using established frameworks.
  • Explain the role of globalization and the rationale of global versus local supply chains.
  • Use models and frameworks for analyzing and evaluating global operations.
  • Describe, analyse and compare different digitalization tools and techniques and underlying technologies for production logistics and supply chain integration.
  • Explain how and under which requirements an increased digitization and various IT systems can facilitate a transparent and seamless information flow in production logistics or in a supply chain for global production and horizontal integration.
  • Identify and analyse interplay and information sharing in different parts of the production logistics, between different units in an organisation (horizontal integration) and between companies in a supply chain (vertical integration).
  • Analyze the needs of a producing company, regarding its internal and external logistics systems from sustainability perspectives.

MODULE STRUCTURE

The learning module is a mixture of self-study, webinars, and cross-company exercises.

  • Introduction to Supply Chain Management & Global Production
  • Supply chain and Production logistics digitalization
  • Information sharing for supply chain integration and sustainability

Expect videos, exercises, reflections that you share with other participants, forums for cross-participant discussions, and much more.

TIME COMMITMENT

To complete this module, the participant is expected to schedule approximately 4 hours over 5 weeks.
